Something needs to change...

It was the 27th of August, 2011.

4: 13 pm
Amit had left early from his theatre rehearsals to attend to a prior engagement. According to him, his day had gone brilliantly till then. A lot of creative ideas flooded through his mind as he walked towards the college gate with his metro friend to head home.

4:16 pm
As he was exiting the gate Amit spotted a dog barking at a kid. The kid was collecting plastic wastes and putting them in his bag along with a friend. Moments later the dog charged at the kids and they started running towards the center of the road. What the kids didn't notice was that a motorbike was coming their way from the other side.

Idealism in the times of Realism

Media in all the core countries of the world act as a watchdog to hold accountable public personalities and institutions whose functions impact social and political life. However, a major ethical issue that the mainstream media in any country face is the inability to propagate their own opinion on any major issue. The media can only present facts and opinions of other people.

Kashmir: Not just an issue

"Bombay ka fashion aur kashmir ka mausam...kabhi bhi badal sakta hai."

The first thirty minutes after a person exits the Srinagar international airport, a blurred scenario is presented in front of him. The scenic beauty and tourist attractions are immense, but the whole city has army men at every fifty to hundred meters.

The Red Saffron

The color saffron is associated with sacrifice, religious abstinence, quest for light and salvation. Saffron or ‘Bhagwa’ is the most sacred color for the Hindus and is often worn by ‘Sanyasis’ who have left their home in search of the ultimate truth.

One such saffron ‘Sanyasi’ is Baba Ramdev who has been in news recently for his movement against corruption.

However with the turn of recent events one can always wonder, that does the color saffron really signify a character trait possessed by Baba Ramdev, or are those traits long gone for when he was actually in search of salvation? Is the ultimate truth according to him, a death penalty for all the corrupt people, or is it to raise arms against those who indulge in such means?

The question of childcare: Single parenting

A person cannot be judged on a scale of what sins he commits. It’s what he does that makes him a good person.

Childhood experiences play a major role in how a person turns out to be as an adult. Hence, there is a great importance of proper parenting in a child’s development. The care and attention that a child requires while growing up has to be efficiently divided between the two parents for proper upbringing. A child who loses one of his parents by form of death, divorce or other new age social norms, plays a big hurdle in the child’s mental as well as psychological development.

The art of earning..

"I DON'T CARE how much I am earning as long as I am happy."
So take some time out and really think over what you like doing in life...It might include reading, writing, acting, listening to music, photography, dancing, sports etc.
But the bitter truth in life is that all of these methods are unconventional and unless you are exceptional in your field you cannot make a mark in the real world.
